One of the models that integrates Amazon Nova, the multimodal AI family of the technological giant, is Amazon Nova Reel, a video-generating AI that creates short videos from text and images and has recently made a qualitative leap forward with the unveiling of its version 1.1.
Amazon Nova Reel 1.1 allows you to generate multi-shot videos of up to 2 minutes in length, maintaining consistency throughout the entire piece. Additionally, this model presents improvements in quality and latency in creating single-shot videos of 6 seconds, compared to its predecessor, Amazon Nova Reel 1.0.
Like the other models of Amazon Nova, this AI is available through Amazon Bedrock, but only in the AWS US East region at the moment.
When generating content with Amazon Nova Reel 1.1, you can choose between two different creative modes:
With “Multishot Automated”, you only need to enter a single prompt of up to 4,000 characters for the AI to generate a video of up to 2 minutes composed of several 6-second shots. This automated mode does not accept reference images to create the pieces.
On the other hand, if you select the “Multishot Manual” option, you will have the possibility to include up to 20 shots to create your video. For this, you can provide detailed directives of up to 512 characters for each shot individually, as well as upload images (with a resolution of 1280×720) to the tool as references for each shot.
You can provide images in base64 format or from an Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) storage. This mode allows you greater control over the video to be generated, resulting in more personalized outcomes.
Amazon highlights the capabilities of Nova Reel 1.1 to maintain the consistency of video elements between shots, a fundamental aspect for achieving professional and quality pieces. The technology company envisions this product as a useful tool for professional activities related to marketing or advertising.
“You can use Amazon Nova Reel to create engaging videos for your marketing campaigns, product designs, and social media content with greater efficiency and creative control. For example, in advertising campaigns, you can produce high-quality video ads with consistent imagery and timing using natural language,” they explain in a statement.
