Amazon has announced two developments related to Amazon Nova, its family of multimodal generative AI models. Firstly, it has launched nova.amazon.com, a website where one can explore and experiment with the capabilities of these models. Secondly, it has introduced Amazon Nova Act, an AI with which to create agents capable of performing actions within a web browser.
Let us recall that Amazon Nova consists of three text generation versions (Micro, Lite, Pro, and Premier), one specialized in image generation (Nova Canvas) and another in video (Nova Reel). All of these are available in AWS Bedrock.
Rohit Prasad, Senior Vice President of General Artificial Intelligence at Amazon, stated: «Nova.amazon.com puts the power of Amazon’s cutting-edge intelligence within reach of all developers and technology enthusiasts, making it easier than ever to explore the capabilities of Amazon Nova.
We have created this experience to inspire developers, so they can quickly test their ideas with the Nova models and then scale them on Amazon Bedrock. It is a significant advance for rapid exploration with AI, which includes cutting-edge capabilities like the Nova Act SDK to create agents that perform actions on the web. We are excited to see what they create and to hear their valuable feedback».
The technology giant has published a preview of the SDK (Software Development Kit) of Amazon Nova Act. The preliminary version of this toolkit is accessible from nova.amazon.com, and will allow developers to test and experiment with an initial version of the new model, in order to create AI agents that can complete specific actions and tasks within a web browser.
The agents are systems capable of executing tasks and acting in various digital and physical environments on behalf of a user. At the moment, the AI agents of Amazon Nova Act are in an early stage of their development.
«The Nova Act SDK represents a crucial advance toward creating reliable agents, as it allows developers to break down complex workflows into atomic commands (e.g., searching, paying, answering questions about the screen). It also enables developers to add more detailed instructions to these commands when necessary (e.g., “do not accept the additional insurance offer”), and call APIs and other functions to further enhance reliability», explained Amazon.

Currently, the technology company has only activated access to nova.amazon.com for its U.S. customers with an Amazon account. These customers can also download Nova Act to begin creating AI agents.
